Crafty Side

Tashina, Phillip's sister, celebrated her 22nd birthday on the 30 of Oct. Debbie had a craft that she wanted to do. It a homemade toilet paper holder. You use the big round metal coffee cans (we used the cans of Tomatoe sauce that she got from work, they got them from Sams), a towel (we just got a cheap towel from Wal-Mart), a hot glue gun, and flowers or other things to decorate it. She has her bathroom decorated in Lilacs so that's what we decided to for the flowers on the can. Here is a picture. I also did a can for me for my bathroom, mine is done in country fishing. I thought they both turned out really cute. Tashina had a good birthday, we got her a sentsy warmer and 3 sentsy bars for her warmer, a gift certificate to get a 30 massage, homemade bathsalts, and the toilet paper holder. We took her out to Chili's for her birthday and gave her the presents there. She seemed very grateful.

So when mom and dad were up in July after Wyatt was born they showed me how to make triangle binding for the blankets. My brother Kyle and his wife Tamara are having a baby in Nov. so I decided to make a baby blanket and some burp cloths and a bib. It was a lot of fun to do. It was so much fun in fact that I decided for Christmas I was making all 4 kids a blanket, pajamas, and a robe for Christmas. I went to Joanns and they had all of their snuggle flannel for under $3.00 a yard and their fleece was on sale to. I was able to get all of the fabric for everything (blankets, pajamas, and robes for all 4 kids) for under $50.00. It should be fun, I started making the robes this last week. You have to almost start this early with Christmas when you have 4 of everything to make. Hope you all enjoy the pictures of the baby blanket.
