Cleaning Helper

Liberty for some reason loves to have everything in an orderly fashion. She has to pick up her room and make her bed everyday, and she loves to do it. Today I was vaccuming the living room and she decided to pitch in. It's nice that she is getting old enough to help out with household chores, even if I do have to go over and inspect what she has done. She is such a big help with her sisters as well. I am very blessed to have a child that pitches in and does chores every now and again.

Rain, Rain, GO AWAY!

We have had the strangest weather for Alaska. Normally for this time of the year we are right around 80-90 degrees with TONS of sunshine. Needless to say this year is definately out of the norm. We have had non stop rain for the last 3 weeks. Here are some pictures of our driveway and ALL the rain we have had for the last two days. Phillip emptied one of the rain gauges this morning and we had 3 inches in it, that's just for one day. If I didn't do anything with the kids, I'm sure that we would all be climbing the walls by now. I really do hope that the weather breaks so that we can go out and do some family activities before the REAL weather of the season hits (SNOW!!!). Liberty's new thing is that she wants to be a doctor when she grows up! Lily, I have noticed definately has her father's temperment. And Cheyenne is the most easy going baby of the three kids. My kids are my life and there is nothing I enjoy more than to be able to raise them with great values. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying every min of their lives. Until next time.

Crazy Life

OK so I really need to update more on my blog. Our lives have been extremely crazy the last week or so. Phillip is getting ready to start his new job out at Clear Air Base about 80 miles from our home. So he has been running around trying to get out processed from Active Duty Air Force and inprocessed into Active Duty Guard. He really hasn't been home very much when the girls have been awake. It suprises me when he walks in the door and the girls go running to greet him with lots of "I love you Daddy"'s and great big bear hugs. I don't think that I could ever imagine my life without our children. They really do bring such joy to our lives. Liberty was playing with Cheyenne and I heard her laughing. I went into the living room to find out what she was doing and to my astonishment Liberty had plucked one of my flowers from my arrangment that was on the table and had put it on Cheyenne's head. It was pretty cute. This was one moment I was glad that I didn't have to search for my digital camera.

I was looking out my back porch the other day and my heart sunk. A little bit of background; this summer has been wetter than any other summer I can remember. We have lived in interior Alaska for 3 years now and most of the time we have to worry about fires. This year has defininately been an exception. I feel like we live in Seattle WA. It has rained almost non-stop for two weeks. My yard is starting to look like a jungle. Anyway, I looked out my back porch and saw a bush already starting to change into fall colors! I am so not ready for winter yet and our -50 degree weather, and I really hope that the winter stays the course and doesn't start flying until the end of October. I have so many things I have to do around the house before the snow starts flying. Anyway, here's a picture of my colorful bush.
